Dr Maria Elissavet Metska DDS, PhD, Dental Surgeon – Endodontist
Dr Maria Elissavet Metska graduated with honors (cum laude) in 2000 from the Dental School of the Semmelweis University in Budapest, Hungary. She worked as a general dentist till 2005 while at the same time she attended and successfully completed the endodontology course (2002-2004) in Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Greece. In 2005 she moved to Amsterdam in The Netherlands to attend the 3-year postgraduate course in endodontology in ACTA (Academic Centre for Dentistry Amsterdam), University of Amsterdam (UvA), which she successfully completed in 2008.
She won the research grant from the European Society of Endodontology (ESE) in 2008 and she successfully defended in 2014 her PhD thesis with the title “Diagnosis and Decision making in Endodontics with the use of Cone Beam Computed Tomography”.
She is certified from the Radiology Department of ACTA (Academic Centre for Dentistry Amsterdam) in analysing CBCT (cone beam computed tomography) scans (3Dimensional radiographs) and she has been using the surgical operating microscope (SOM) for all endodontic treatments since 2005.
She has been working as a clinician in endodontic practices in The Netherlands from 2005 until recently. Since the beginning of May 2018 she is working in her endodontic practice in Limassol, Cyprus.
She is a member of the Cyprus Society of Endodontology (EEK), a certified member of the European Society of Endodontology (ESE) and the Dutch Endodontic Society (Nederlandse Vereniging voor Endodontologie NVvE). She is a referee in the International Endodontic Journal (IEJ), the official journal of the British Endodontic Society and the European Society of Endodontology.
